On my 66.. My cab mounts are good, but I need to replace the floor pans which are attached to the front cab mounts. What's the best way to temporarily support the cab while removing the pans??
I'm planning to do this with the cab still on the frame and was thinking that the cab needed support while I have one side of the floor out.
I now see that the cab mount goes up to the seem where the firewall and floor meet. That may be enough support since I won't need to remove the pan to that point.
I made a stand to hold my cab up while i replaced the cab mounts and the floor. I ran the bolt threw the hood hinge hole. I later redid the stand with a piece of angle iron at the top to set the bottom of the cowl on. That workded a little better.
make sure that your heigth is correct for fender to door alignment and correct hoot to fender.
not having that correct will send everything off.
some shimming will prob be needed to fine tune it but generally that heigth
is determined with cab mount and floor.
