The pcm can shutdown the gpr from the inrush.
It can/will also duty cycle the gpr.
This is so you have batt power to rotate the motor.

15*f with 40mph winds here today...

I had 1 here on my thermometer last night at 10PM.

I'd get a stancore even if my GPR was good.
Just my .02.

My van still has the same gpr in it from the factory.
To boot its a cali setup.

Its just you could be on the edge.
