My blower motor runs with key out on all speeds in my excursion. Replaced blower relay in hood fuse box. NO FIX. As I move climate selector to off and turn key to acc. and off it will turn off blower. If I turn selector to any position such as vent or heat with key out, blower runs thus drains battery.
Anyone had this problem? Do I have to replace the whole climate pod? Those I bet are expensive!!!
remove the two connectors that are on the bottom of your fuse box. look for signs of water intrusion on the connectors. if there is you probley have a water leak from your windshield. get the windshield fixxed and replace your fuse box. seen it a hundered times on all f-serise trucks with that style of fuse box.
Thanks for the reply. This weekend while changing the climate control pod I found I do have a water leak. Glovebox was soaked and both floor mats were soaked. I dont know where it is leaking. So that is my next step.Fix leak and look for short/ground issue. I assume you are refering to the one under the steering wheel. Fuse 22 is in the upper right corner and it is for the blower motor relay coil. What and where is that coil??? When I remove fuse 22 the blower still runs!!! I always post my fix. Thanks again for the reply. JOHN
try pushing on the top of the windsheild and see if it moves away from the truck. 99% of the time that is were the leak is. the windsheild will have to be removed and resealed. the connectors im talking about are on the back of the fuse box. you will have to lay on the floor to see them. they are secured with 10 millameter bolts
Took Ex to dealer and problem stopped before tech had chance to check problem. Must have dried out on its own. Replaced windshield and found a rust problem on top middle of roof under windsheild seal. Possible cause for leak. Has been below freezing here in SE. Ohio for weeks and haven't had a chance to see if it will leak. Thanks for your help. Hope this fixed it. JOHN
if they got the water leak fixxed and the fuse box dried out it should be fine. if you catch it soon enough the fuse box the fuse box will not be damaged.
I have the same problem with blower running all the time. No water. Truck is under cover all the time and no indications of leakage. What component will cause this problem? 2000 Ex 7.3 4WD
