Well guys the other day i was reading a thread about cutting off the muffler and reinstalling the tail pipe .so i did that and wow what a differance by just doin that.BUT now i can hear a noise from the exhaust pipe almost sound like a clang mostly noticable from exhaust pipe.Any ideas? Can a lifter noise carry down the exhaust ?Oh ya i did a compression check and its around 400 psi.
it was not very noticable till i removed exhast.its not touching anywere.it sounds like your standing next to a freight train, almost like every second revolution. dont know if sound is from intake as well ill have to let you know.befor the muffle it almost sounded like it was coming from bell housing...Thanks for your help.
hmmmm i wonder if you have the problem i just found on mine. The flange connection from the header on mine was rotted out and when i was cutting to do my work that i posted in exhaust version 3.0, it fell off. I had to get some fresh pipe and slide it through then ball peen it out to make the flange, then i used my dremel to smooth it off. I replaced it and the rattle/clicking went away. Maybe check there, might be if it sounds like it is from the bell housing!
