2x6 bulldog, I bought my filters from the same site. Have really been impressed with them because of how fast they shipped my order. The day I posted this thread I used their online form to submit my problem to their customer service people. I didn't hear anything back from them so I sent an email this morning instead. I got a reply back within an hour, my new filters are on their way with a prepaid return sticker to send the torn ones back. I assume a technical glitch prevented them from getting my first attempt.
I didn't post who they were because I wanted to see how they handled my problem before I brought up their name on FTE. Now that I have their response I can say that they are one of the best online stores I've used. Quick shipping, fair prices, and fast response to my emails have me satisfied.
Hunter08, if my truck gives me trouble starting after I change them I'll have to try this trick, thanks for posting!
And Scott's right, the only reason I bought those filters are because Racor makes the Motorcraft ones. I am NOT willing to take chances with an engine that would cost me $15,000 to replace or an $8K fuel system. Nearly every other maintenance item I plan on buying for this truck is going to be genuine MC. Between online retailers such as www.dieselfiltersonline.com and wal-mart's cheap Motorcraft oil filters it shouldn't be expensive to stick with the genuine goods.
