To be brutally honest, if you are wanting one for a driver, 1 is enough. If the build process is what you enjoy more, then 2 is enough.

IE: 1= driver, with occasional repairs and upkeep to make it continually perform better.
2= project in the garage with 1 waiting out back for when the first is finished.
3= 1 project, 1 waiting, and 1 for parts...usually adds up to them sitting longer due to the extent of a project needing a parts truck, which would mean the project is in need of a lot of repair.

Any more than that, and you are setting yourself up for failure. There will be moments of being overwhelmed having too many projects, too many finished trucks having to be stored and insured, too many neighbors and county officials crawling down your back for the local eyesore, too many dollars being spent on parts for truck #6 that you may end up not getting to within 10 years, so on, so on. Or you could just be nuts like most of us. Take my words with a grain of salt.

"... moments of being overwhelmed..."
Kinda describes my job, only not moments, but days. I feel at home being overwhelmed.
To me a "project" is not a yard ornament waiting for a someday to come along, but something that can be driven and tinkered with. I tend to keep current plates on my projects, and not be too obvious, so the local officials have nothing to go after. I just hate to see something interesting go by the wayside, especially the bigger trucks, now that I have some extra room. I have passed on things that would require just too much time, and come warm weather may be trying to move one or two out to someone else.

I personally plan on aquiring as much vintage tin as I can, b-4 it's all gone.......too much of it has allready disappeared to the "scrap gods".......it all has "value" and will only continue to increase, as time goes by......as long as one has the $$$ and the proper type of space (acres) to keep them in, there can never be such a thing as "too many"....
besides I'm fortunate to have 2 sons and a daughter, who are into old vehicles as well and plan on leaving them as many gems from the past, as I can........not only for them to enjoy, but for future generations to enjoy and keep our hobby alive long after wer'e all gone.........

Hey, I have a question on protocol here. Recently I have come across info on some interesting trucks for sale. If I have no interest in one, say a C Series Medium, is it acceptable to pass the info on it to someone else here who might be interested?
