using the stock mount it just slides side to side, a block of wood would fix this. i mighgt just do that.
also, curious, how many of you keep the little "battery" cover off of the driver side? it seems a little annoying to remove with my coolant filter in the way
did you use two of the plastic clips that came with teh battery? or just one? mine seems to slide a little
I used the clamps that came in the topper (cover) and they are both tight. I've had a lot of "fun" off-roading and they have not come loose at all (and I definitely rattled them around).
My F-150 was a loose fit and I wrapped some duct tape around some wood and jammed them in there to stabilize the battery. Worked great like that for 6 years until I sold the truck.

i was doing the install in the dark last night, doing it during the day i was able to align everything use the two included clamps
I secure my optimas in the trash can. I hope you have better luck. I tested, charged, tested, charged, and never got one optimas to live up to its rating. I will never buy another. The warrenty service was good, but all the new ones were just as defective. I sincerely wish you better luck.
I used the plastic clips that came with mine. on the driver's side, I cut down the stock holder pretty much down to just the bottom part. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem with Optima battery also.
I've had mine for 2+ years and they crank just as fast today as when I got them. I bought them for the deep discharge quality. We like to tailgate at the ballgames and crank the stereo for hours. Never been let down since buying them. (knocking on wood)
to the OP: here's mine, hope you can make them out.
drivers side
The problem I had with them, is they were at max or 80% of their rated capacity. These batteries have around a 100 AH rating (amp hour, and i cannot remember the value, its been too long) 100 AH rating means you can take 20 amps, for 5 hours, and the battery will be discharged to 10.5 volts (IIRC its on the label the AH rating is at a discharge rate of 20A). So I hooked an inverter, with a load, (drawing 20 amps) and at best could get 4 hours. The best one. The rest were significantly worse. Now the use I was using them for was not to start the truck, but to run 3 of them parallel in the back of the truck, with a seperate alternator. The optimas just never cut it for me. I have been using Deka 8A31DT AGM batteries as a replacement. They are 120 AH IIRC and are a very nice unit. However, they are not to be bolted into a car. I tried all versions of the optimas, red, yellow, blue...... Like I said though, I sincerely hope yours work better. Sincerely.
EDIT : Also, I charged them to 13.75 volts, and held them there untill they were under 500mA charge current.
