Hi, i am going to be installing a 119gal fuel tank in the back of my truck bed. Is there a sending unit that i can use so i know how much gas i have? the factory tank will NOT be used. can i just use the 19 gal sending unit?
no offense but this sounds like a project that you shouldn't take on if you haven't even opened it up or looked at it yet. but anywhoo.
no you cant use the factory sending unit as it, you would need to have a very low flat tank (like the factory) or you would need to modify to extend the OEM one, just like the tank you will need to create or extend the OEM. like on the 40gal tanks your tank will just be "full" for a long time.
if you do make your own there are ohm values somewhere in her if you search ohm and sender unit that will give you the values you need for full 3/4 etc...
LOL I have never seen instructions with an auxzillary inbed tank. I have an extra fuel selector valve on mine but, no guage you can get 24 and 26 inch sending units from KW and use a extra guage in your rig. The sending unit cost around 140 buchs though.
You know that is going to weigh around 700# ? Is your tank baffled ? Depending on the design of the tank that would be a lot of weight to have sloshing around in a pickup, not to mention the danger if you had a accident.
