I ran the motorcraft stuff for 333,000 kms on my original motor ! Changed it every 5000kms (3000miles) and it seemed to do fine ! But that motor is gone now and I never had an oil analyses done on it ! The new motor is going to get shaffers that was just delivered to the house ! Its stupid expensive up here in canada, but I want to see what the difference is !

Which oil? The 9000 5W-40? 7000 15W-40?
I assume the 5W-40 since you're further up North.....
Russ id recommend the 9000 5w40. i ran 7000 her ein Washington and didnt like it near as much as the 9000
I'm going to try the 7000 15w40 for now.. if it doesn't like that I'll go to the 9000. Thanks for the advise ! but I already bought the 7000 ! Ya its expensive up here !
I don't know how hard it is for you to do this or if it is possible. But next time, can you ferry/drive across the border and get some since you live close to the border? Or will you have to change the oil in the States or something crazy like that?
Gonna get pretty busy in your neck of the woods shortly huh!

I run the series 7000 15W-40 here also in South Dakota. A bit stronger additive package and tends to shear less in higher ICP applications - has a nice dose of Antimony - high pressure additive. But I can understand Ken's (Powerstrk99) preference for better cold starts. We've been around the table on this discussion a couple of times in the past - nothing wrong with either choice.

Yup getting busy up here already ! I would go to the states for it.. but to make a special trip just for oil isn't worth it when you add the $120 ferry ride to get off the island !
Man Rich, you ain't kidding that 7000 is loaded with extra doses, definetly makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, you know my story, and I'm very happy with the 7000. I had some shearing issues when I showed him my last UOA, 10,000 mile intervals down to 8000 now per Schaeffers lab and Rich.. Rotella 5-40 to 97,000 then the 9000 synthetic to about 132,000 now the 7000 syn blend, good stuff so far. On a very cold morning I might get a romp or two but it smooths right on out.
