I'm no mechanic but it sounds like its the belt. I think excessive slipping can heat the belt causing it to glaze over and not grip the pulleys. Though it doesn't seem like this would happen to a 3 month old belt unless something else was causing the belt to slip.

i figured it out. it was the idler pulley. who wouldve thought

yea the reason i thought i couldnt possibly be that was because i had put in a new one like lst oct. so i thought it would still be good. guess not. but thanks
