squealing from pullies
OK this noise is driving me up the wall. its a 88 5.8l. i just rebuilt the engine and now i got it all back together and its making a load belt squeel. I have the air pump pulled off but have a belt that is smaller then normal, the tensioner has it arrow pointing into the proper range. I put a new belt on but still makes the noise. i changed the alternator, waterpump, belt tensioner pully on the water pump, ac comp. the only thing i havent changed is the power steering pump sense i dont have a extra one laying around. now comes the really trippy part if i put more pressure on the tensioner the noise gets louder and if it pull up on the tensioner the noise goes away. its mostly does it when it warms up. Please help! im running out of ideas.

first.... sounds like it may be something other than the belt. maybe one of the pulleys is the culprit or an accessory..... I say this because if more tension makes the noise worse.... is probably not the belt....
