O/D problem

O/D problem
For the past several days when my truck has had to downshift from O/D, it will stutter and sound like I'm running over the grooves on the shoulder of the road. I locked out O/D today and it does not make the sound or stutter when pressing the button. Only when the truck decides to downshift is there a problem. Also with O/D off, the other gears shift as normal. Fluid level is fine. Truck is a 2004 FX4 SCrew 5.4L 3.73. 4x4 operates correctly. Thinking it might be time to get a 09 or 10.

Problem Solved
Had my mechanic look at the transmission and he said it needed to be rebuilt. I decided to let the dealership take it of my hands and left in one sweet left over 09. GMC Sierra Z71.
