I am looking for some device, lock for my side view mirrors they keep stealing them I have the heated with signal on them. They were stolen twice in a month in NY and are very expensive. Please email me with info. Thanks
how are they stealing them??
I thought that the side mirrors are bolted through the door, so the theif would have to be inside of the truck to unbolt them.
Are they breaking into the truck, or just ripping them off from outside?
I would think that the mirrors would be useless for re-use if they were just busted off.
If all else fails, just keep a pistol under the bed like we do here in Jersey
They are bolted to he inside of the door, While at the dealer ship(go figure) my driver side mirror was stolen, or as "they" said, came up missing. WOW! I've lost some bolts before, but never have I lost anyhthing that was actually bolted down! Need less to say mirror was replaced...

I heard that they do make a lock that secures the windows. I live in NYC also is this was a big concern of mine since a friend of mine's mother had her stolen off her Lincoln Navigator. I will respond to this again when I get the details or email at tdh0276(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and I'll get back to you on it. Reference this posting when sending the email.
I am still unclear as to how the mirrors can be stolen without the theif getting into the truck?
Do you have a LOUD alarm system? It may be a consideration.
I have an idea for you, I used to drive a Toyota 4X4 and I had my offroad lights stolen once and I thought of a trick (other than electrifying the truck) I replaced the light bar bolts (and the rest of my accessory fasteners, for that matter) with new bolts having an internal torx style drive (similar to brake rotor bolt style)applied loc-tite, and cranked them on HARD! I no longer have the truck, but I am glad to say that I never lost my accessories again.
So, my point, Replace the mirror mounting bolts with a special type of fastener that the average grab and run artist wont be carrying a tool for.
I doubt that most auto theiving scumbags carry air impact wrenches in their bag of tricks, and that's about what it will take to steal them again.
Besides, if they spend have to spend too much time (or brain power) on ripping off your truck, they will probably just move on to the next guy.
