motor identify
The vin # is F26SECA4804.
I have tracked this to a 1978 F250, 400ci 6.6L
The axles as far as I can tell are Dana 60 w/ 4.10 gear ratio. My question is, would the motor be a 400M. ON the valve cover there is a sticker that has 351C/400 EGA. the motor has no catalylatic converters and that is what the sticker is adressing. I know the motor and the rest of the pickup is factory original. Please help me solve this quiz. The previous owner told me that he got the vehicle seviced on a yearly base and it never seemed to have the power. He did some research and
found out that the timing was off by 12 degrees. So I have concluded that his machanic was using the wrong specs to time this motor.
