Hello everyone I noticed the other day that there was a smell like a cooked wire after running the truck for about an hour. I looked everywhere and could not find anything. Today the same thing happened but after searching under neath the hood and under the truck, dash and I cant find anything? Has anyone experienced this or heard of this issue? Any ideas on where to look the smell seems to come form the front of the drivers side. I should note also that I never smell anything in the cab. Please help?
Check Cruise Control cut off switch under brake master cylinder.
There was a recall on it but I am not sure what years it concerned,it did mine 02.
Or check TSB on that .
good luck
Don't know what it is either. It has happened to me on numerous occassions. I can't pin it down to anything specific though. It's happened in winter with the heater on, summer with the AC on, with nothing but a vent, with and without cruise. Probably a handful of times in the 5 years I've had the truck. Everything still works, so I have no idea!
I had that recall done but never had any smells and it was leaking. I had a smell of burning electrical and it was my bulbs melting my headlights and caught fire took an hour then boom - check the bulb harness for any damage...just to be sure.
