Okay on my 400m Ive been tracing vacuum leaks for two days capping and replacing and checking and so on..........
My new problem is right behind the water neck for the t-stat there is a metal tube coming out of the intake and it goes to the air bypass valve?
Well mine rusted off and broke. The air pump is unhooked so can I just cap this off or do I need to go junkyard searching?
Any help is greatly appreciated. If you need pics I can get them tomorrow.
Go to just about any hardware store and buy a threaded plug like what you'd use on some pipe that matches the threads. I did the same on my 400 years ago, haven't had any issues. I don't have to take it though emissions anymore either. (Add some RTV on the threads to make sure it won't leak.)
