I have noticed since I got my truck (78 F150 4x4) in Nov that the breaks are very stiff. I almost have to stand on them to get the truck to stop at times, however it will stop. Here is a summary of what I have done and things I noticed. 1. Replaced all flex lines with stainless. Truck still had original front lines from 78!! a) Bleed all four locations until nothing but fluid came out. (Two man job) b) Checked all metal lines for crimps, binds or leaks. I found none. c) Check for leaks at calipers and drums. Found none. d) Test front disk calipers. They are working from a visual standpoint. e) MC is not loosing a lot of fluid, I don’t have to fill it up every day/week 2. I have noticed after driving a few days back that the MC reservoir was damp from seepage from around the MC cap. It is on tight but from looks of the seepage it appears not to be sealing anymore. Before I start spending anymore money on parts I was wondering what some of you all thought it might be.
What may be obvious to some isn’t to others. LOL but to answer your yes I do. Its rusted to heck and back but I haven’t done anything to it yet… Sometimes it appears to be wet around the bottom of it as well.
Well since you say it has one then I would guess to say it is bad. I just had to ask though, never no somebody might have switched it over to manual. I just sold a good one with a new mastercylinder on it for 50 bucks.
Ok if it is the booster then it looks like I can get a rebuild one for 120 with core return. Is this about right? Also I am very mechanically skilled so I can just about do anything but is this something better left to the pros with specific tools or is this something that I can do? Note: I know everyone’s skill level opinion of themselves differs so be honest

Check the booster check valve first. Probably not the problem, but it is first thing to check. When you pull it out of the booster after truck has been running, shut off truck and pull valve from front of booster with the vacuum line attached to it. You should hear a swoosh if booster had vacuum in it. Then check valve, you should be able to suck one way and not the other, through it.
