What should I use for oil in my 200K+ 302?

Just use regular 5w-30 or 10w-30 like you normally do. As long as you keep up on the maintenance intervals youll be good. In my opinion the high mileage oils are a waste of money and I definitely dont believe in synthetic
(I know a lot of people here may use synthetic or high mileage oils but they arent worth the extra money to me and with synthetics, im not gonna drive 20,000 miles before an oil change. Dont like that idea..)

synthectic
while I agree that and 'old' motor should not be switched to synthetic (have heard of low pressure problems), I strongly believe in is benefits .. have a buddy that works for Consumers Reports (he's a mech engineer) and they did a real world test on NYC taxis a while back that proved the stuff is better .. on my daily drivers I change oil and filter every 5k miles (to maintain warranty), no stickers or trying to remember the last change, just change it at even 5k intervals on the odo .. I figure the extra protection if it ever overheats is worth it .. he (the mech engineer) said even just one quart per change would be beneficial ..

I have 275k on mine and its never even had som much as a valve cover off. I have been running high mileage oil 10w30 since about 100-120k.
I have been running Pennzoil high mileage, because the truck always had Pennzoil in it for 90k miles before I got it. I don't like changing brands and mixing oils.
I change mine every 3k miles or a bit sooner if it looks dirty.
I would recommend the Valvoline Max Life, Penn high mileage, or Castrol high mileage. I don't think our trucks benefit any from synthetic oils. They are too expensive anyway, and I don't buy the long oil change intervals. There is stilll going to be dirt and moistured that makes its way into the crank case.
Oh yeah, get a Motorcraft filter. If you can't find that then Wix or Purolator. Do not use Fram!
