The tranny is smoked, but I got a sweet deal on it.

 

So how much did ya pay? That truck looks real clean.

 

He was asking 8500, got him down to 7000. (thats a good deal around here anyways, and im a craigslist-fiend)

He had the VCH replaced, water pump done, alternator, 2 fresh batteries.

Still needs a few things; rear spring hangers are shot, some rust occurring, fuel in the valley, gotta get some rear center caps, etc.

 

It is amazing how these trucks retain their value. I want another one but I am looking for the real good deal.LOL

Saw one with a 5spd & 192k miles go for 11,500 last week. I was on the lot looking at it.

 

See what I mean. I love my truck, but I never thought of it still being worth 7,000.00 LOL

My brother in law has a super nice bright red 4 door. Always makes me jealous every time I see it. Ford always has had the nicest 4 door.

 

Nice find. That paint is in really nice shape too, same color as mine. Only problem I've had is getting a good color match, I had some a hole back into me and had to get some body work on the rear quarter and the color is just a hair off (to the point where most people don't see it but I'm very particular) and drives me nuts. The body shop I went to said it was as close as they could get it, and they are a very reputable place in my area so I guess I'll have to take there word for it. Again really nice truck.

 

The paint isnt as nice as it looks. It really needs a bed, front quarters, and maybe a door. It's going to be my project. I think i'm going to find a donor f150 that's in good shape to use for panels. i've seen some clean ones around here go for $1500 or so. I'm either going red or black with the paint. cant decide. but thats a year or two down the road.

 

How about some more details? 4x4? auto stick? interior condition? Nice looking truck?
What is smoked about the trans? It looks like it has diff lockers in the front but hard to tell.
