Tilt steering/power steering question

Tilt steering/power steering question
I've read some of the posts on the forum and have a question regarding swapping a standard steering column for a tilt version. I have a 1971 Ford Camper special, 390, AT, with power steering and would like to upgrade to a tilt wheel. I'm clear I need to look for a donor column from a 79. What I'm not clear on is the power steering unit to use. One of the posts recommend using a 73-79 saginaw gear box. I have a saginaw gear box, that came with the truck, that I just rebuilt. Is it not going to be compatible with the 79 tilt column?

If you have the same steering box I can't see why it wouldn't work. The tilt column came in 78 and 79 trucks but more high end stuff. Both tilts I have came from 79 rangers. Make sure when you find a tilt column you get the rag joint for it as well because you can't remove yours and try to find someone that will give one up might be a tough find. The tilt column I am using for my 67 project, the only bearing that I had a hard time with was the bottom bearing and housing. My plastic housing for the bottom bearing was broken, but I did find it online. The rest of my bearings have come from ford. Now I need to get the plastic signal light housing then I can rebuilt the second one also, but that part can't be bought from ford.

The application for a steering coupler (rag joint) makes no mention of a Tilt Wheel.
