Cleaned EGR

Pulled the EGR this afternoon and it really was not that bad. Had a few chunks up around the top of the valve, but the rest was just some light carbon. What was scary was the intake. I used a dry vac and removed as much as I could. Took it for a spin and it still bucks like crazy around 60 MPH. I pulled over and unplugged the EGR and it still bucked. I will now assume that it is not the EGR causing this problem.
While looking over everything there is an oily residue on the outside of the of the intercooler pipe on both ends, more on the end by the turbo. Should I try to tighten up the clamps a little? I also found the MAF? loose on the intake tube and tighten that up.
Unfortunately the person who owned this truck before me installed a bully dog air filter. I need to get some cleaner and oil for it. It was/is filthy. I removed all the large pieces of debris out of it and will have to wait to get the stuff to clean it properly.
So I guess now it is time for the dealer to diagnose the problem and let me know if it is a TCC solenoid or bad injector causing the bucking.
This is an Awesome forum with way too much information. If I read enough posts will I earn some type of degree in Diesel Mechanics?

if you had carbo holding the vave open then that is were the problem starts, if thats the case the intake should be removed and clean. You may also find out you have an egr cooler that is carbon loaded too sending chunks in to the intake.

Its possible but unlikly. you will also have to have a tool box and 50k in tools.

Dump the bully dog and go back to stock. The B.D. will do you absolutely no good.

It's crazy how complicated these diesels are with all the emisions crap. I believe my tractor would be much easier to work on. After reading for weeks on this forum it is getting scary to think about all that goes into these things running for even 1 revolution.
I have 25 years experience as a "back yard" trained mechanic. My father owned a shop and I work for him for over 10 years. Unfortunately the experience I have is 100% gasoline engines. Hopefully I will be able to learn all I need to from reading and not from actually getting hands on due to my truck having more problems than it already does. (and I don't consider this problem to be all that bad to say anything bad about the 6.0)
I have noticed that the worst bucking is when the engine is cold, but still notice a slight hiccup when going up hills around 75 MPH.
As far as tools go, the 50K required is the reason I am not a paid auto mechanic.
Cheezit, most my experience is with GM and I am new to Fords. Will this truck store a code without the CEL coming on?
BTW I forgot to mention in the original post that this is a 2006 F-250.
