Okay, so today I decided to take the truck out for a ride after working on the motor for the past few weeks. Well I have ran into a new problem.
I pulled into my parents driveway to visit and the pedal went to the floor but was able to stop. Well, I pumped on the pedal and it came back.
Well after a while I went back outside and started the truck and what do you know, the pedal keeps going to the floor like it has no pressure. I ran to O'riellys auto parts and bought a new brake master cylinder bolted it up and still like it has no pressure.
I pulled the truck futher into the driveway to get it out of the way and once again, it will stop but the pedal is going all the way to the floor.
Does this sound like the brake booster has gone out? I've looked for leaking cylinder, and leaking lines but cannot locate anything leaking fluid.
Please, let me know what you think it could be, again, I'm leaning towards a bad booster, but not 100% sure.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I tried bleeding the lines to see If I had air in the system and I couldn't get anything to squirt out..................I'm starting to lose it.
any help will be appreciated, sorry for the long post, but I described my problem the best that I could.
Did you bench bleed the new master? If not, try it, then try another master if there is still a problem.
I'll give it a try, we did bleed the system but no luck. My cousing stopped by a while ago and said that he had a similer problem a month or so ago. He said that he changed the brake booster and it solved his problem.
Yes, a failed power brake booster could cause similar problems, but you should still be able
to get fluid to squirt out of the bleeder screws. My bet is you didn't bench bleed the master
cylinder before installing it.
