New fuel problems.

So I had a fuel leak and got some great advice on here. It turns out though, it was leaking from the top of the fuel bowl. Any ideas what would cause this to leak. I replaced the lid and seals, but I was driving down the road the other day and it started leaking from between the cap and bowl. I took it off, and re-tightened it. That stopped the leak. My question is, what could have caused the lid to start leaking again? Could I have overtightened it?

These fuel bowls can be funny, IMO, if you don't snug it down just right, it will seep or leak, trial and error kinda thing. After I install mine at the recommended intervals, I take a peak and run my finger around the lip at times just to make sure all is good.

Yep -- I just "feel" it snug down on the gasket. Can't be described, really. I do the same with my oil filter.

Awesome. Well I hope it doesn't pop off again.

you did lube the o ring right?? it needs to be a little slick to slide when rubber expands and re tracks as it heats and cools..a dry rubber will try to roll and cause a leak...some say lube with oil..some say with diesel..read the box...
