hello, again. i have purchased a ''96'' f250 2wheel drive with a manual tranny that is ''out'', i get it home and crawl under her and notice these strange fibers all down the drivers side of the tranny,hence clutch disc particles.. i am an automatic man. i was needing to know if it possible that the clutch might be the only problem & if that would be the place to start. I herd that this tranny is a 5speed ''KOTEX'' NICKNAME??? I WOULD REALLY LIKE SOME INFO /DIAGRAM/PROCEDURE ON THIS CLUTCH REPLACEMENT, if anybody has time for a poor ignorant trueblue ford freak. i would be gratefull .. thanks drof88

What engine is it? Is there resistance in the clutch pedal when you push it down? With the engine running does it go into gear but will not move when pedal is released or does it not go into gear at all?

it is a 302/5.0 it needs a fuel pump also! so i can't anwser that q's. ican hook up the old bug sprayer and see if that is truley what is the case with the fuel pump??. iwiilll

yes !!! the motor runs ,it just don't move , i am pricing a clutch rebuild kit, for that vin#, what's the chance's of a first timer getting to homeplate, on the first date???? =2.5%?. also any words of wisdom,encouragement,pity,etc is much appreciated, thx drof
