Now you have me wondering if it was Summersville.

All I know for sure is the speed limit dropped to 55, the suddenly 50 for a mile or so.
And both ends of the 50 MPH zone had speed traps.

Heard a couple more with the radar detector while I was on 19, so I just stay at the speed limit from 79 to Beckley.

Oh, it could've definitely been Fayetteville!

I think that whole section of 19 starting around Summersville is riddled with speed traps. Summersville seems to get all the attention though.

There used to be a problem with the Mount Hope PD on 19 though I haven't heard much about that recently. All of 19 is a candy store for the WVSP though. I can understand the imposed speed limits in certain sections but some of the limit changes seem suspect and rather sudden.

If you have ever noticed the Summersville PD cars, they are all new. All there money comes from the speed limit change on 19 through Summersville. I can not remember what they raked in last year. They are nationally know for being a speed trap and writing over 18,000 tickets a year.

Sorry Jason, I did not read the first page before I posted.

No problem!

I traveled through there a few times a week for 5 years on my way to/from WVIT. Somehow I managed to avoid getting pulled over that whole time. I can't say the same for Pratt and Rainelle though

My Mom used to work part time in Cass through the summers and she once talked to a group from Canada who told us the travel agents in up there warn people about Summersville, WV.
