Bountyhunter
That is offensive to say the least.
Last year we opened out airports here on the east 9/11 and took in hundreds of Americans..into our own homes. What a response.
Be proud to be Canadian!
I just ignore him.

Who the hell is Peter Jennings?
Should I care?
Hmm...
Seems like Rush Limburger is enough to wonder about as it is, I'd like to see him marry Rosie O'Donnell just to punish eachother!
>=o)
None.
So he speaks for ... himself!
Ross perot has won more national votes than Pat ever has, hasnt he? I actually voted for Ross Perot, but, if people considered him on the "fringe" with 10% of the vote, what is Pat Buchanan ?
> Canadas lackadaisical & freeloading attitude toward military
Somehow I would not feel safer knowing Canada or Mexico had a thousand ICBMs or ten nuclear aircraft carriers at their disposal. I would feel a lot safer knowing Canada has a good and stable economy not dragged down with debt spent on weapons.
Why should Canada arm itself to the teeth anyway. Basically the only border it has is with the US and the most hostile thing that happens between the two countries is a tic-for-tat tariff on trees being imported/exported.
I think it is a given that any attack on Canada would be considered an attack on America. If someone blew up a sky scraper in Canada I would expect the US to declare war on the guilty party and blast them off the face of the earth if Canada did not have the reach to do it.
The best things for both countries would be for Canada to make sure all its borders and waterways are secure. That way they can keep all the nuts that get into our country out of theirs.
If anything, what we should do is when it is developed, give our FRIENDS in Canada star wars tech. to defend against missle attack from rogue states.
Hey, Britian would have gone under if Canada had not helped with the lend-lease act and many thousands of men from Canada died in WWII right next to their American friends in Africa, the Pacific, Asia and everywhere else.
When is the last time PB ever visited Canada any how?
I don't see a big return in investing in a huge military. We don't have the resources. However, we do provide the US with a lot of our natural reources (here - natural gas. We can't buy it even though it just off our shore- but they can in Boston).
So in return is the expectation of a little protection out of line? I don't think so.
Anyway the history of the US and (Eastern) Canada is one big ball anyway. Friends, Neighbours, Allies.
Thats why we send a XMAS tree to Boston every year to thank the US for helping out in our biggest disaster..the Halifax Explosion - the largest non atomic blast prior to WW2. They were the first up to the plate to help us.
And most important....

The intelligent citizen will sort him right into the dustbin of history as a very minor political participant that appealed only to the extreme fringe of the right wing conservative voter.
