94 explorer the truck will only start now with a jump and only if I hold the negative jumper cable to the bolt on the negative battery cable end thatclamps it tight against battery. I just replaced the cable ends with new connectors and everything is tight. It seems like something is loose because if I wiggle the cables on the terminals I get juice. Then trucks starts and when you press brake or do anything else to draw power battery gauge jumps. Then it will not start once you shut it off; all lights go out once you turn key to start position until you turn it back to on, also even the door locks make so much a draw that lights go out and they won't lock. Battery tested good, what else could it be? I also replaced ground cable to battery. Thanks for any input.
Replace the other battery cable assuming the replacement negative cable is actually good.
The early Exploders were known for having the cable corrode inside the insulation jacket, usually within a foot of the battery. My old 93 spent the night in a theater parking lot when it failed on me without warning.
You should not be able to wiggle the cable, it should be tight.
Total nonsense!
Hopefully you meant that wiggling the cable should not move the clamp and that the cable should not wiggle in the clamp -- but you most certainly should be able to wiggle the cable itself because if there is no slack in the cable it is certainly going to damage the cable and/or the connectors due to vibration and movement within the vehicle.

Frequently they can be -- depending quite a bit on what kind they are and how they are installed.
