7.3 return lines

i've got a 1993 f350 7.3 non turbo replaced return lines from another engine... when i took off the plastic caps i thought they all had two outlets on each side .. but when putting ones back from the other engine i got one with only one outlet, i have no idea where the one with just one outlet is supposed to go any help?

chainsaw cowboy,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

The single outlet cap is for a turbo engine, it would go on the rear passenger side injector.

Hope you are using new O rings.

I'll second that, as thats where there is one on mine. For an aftermarket ATS install, both the driver side front and passenger side rear would be single caps.

I have seen them routed so many different ways it's not funny.

Basicly, all injectors, the IP and fuel filter all have return lines on them.
There is a return line at the rear of the drivers side head that goes down to the fuel selector valve.

So if you tie all of those things together with return lines, you are good to go.

Exact routing is not important.

My 6.9 had double nipples on both front injectors, filter return went to the passenger side front injector, IP went to the drivers side front injector.
Then both sides ran straight through all the injectors to the rear injector on each side, again with double nipple caps.

The second line on both rear injectors went to the tee at the return line going to the FSV.

On my turbo engine single on the rear passenger side, up to the front injector, then over to an inline tee for the fuel filter, under the IP to another tee for the IP return, then on to the drivers side front injector. Run to the back on the drivers side, then into the line to the FSV.
