Carb Heat
I am wondering how to check the carb heat flap on the air intake of the air cleaner housing. From what I can see it is supposed to go to the cold position after it heats up. Mine is just staying in the hot position robbing power. My neighbor says just take it off but I am one of those silly nuts that likes everything to work. Can this unit be fixed or tested?

I have removed the intake horn from the air cleaner so I will get cold air induction. Looking at the flapper there is a coil that expands as it gets warm and closes the flap. The coil is about four inches in length and appears to be missing about half of the coil. A rather ingenious system. LMC has no parts for it, maybe I will try the Ford dealer.
