Transmission Question
I've installed a VDO programmable gauge in a '50 ford stakebody (that's been restomod with a 302cid and ford-o-matic 3spd OD manual transmission from a '76 E100). And according to VDO, I need to get the drive gear and driven gear tooth sizes to help calculate the speedo. (I can get the driven gear size by removing the cable and counting.) But where can I get the tranny drive gear tooth size on the ford-o-matic without dismantling my transmission? Any help would be appreciated.

Transmission Question
The only way to get to the speedo gear is to remove the tail section of the trans. This can be done very easy. Just remove the drive shaft and using a jack support the trans, remove the trans mount bolts, and remove the four bolts holding the tail on. You will need an oil drip pan as when you pull the drive shaft you will loose about a quart of oil.
