My 78 F-100 stepside taillights have weak directionals - they stop blinking if you step on the brake - the
rear license plate light blinks with the hazard flashers...can't get the backup lights to come on
consistently... ....I unplugged the rear taillight wiring assembly to have the truck painted ...this all
started happening after I reconnected the wires - mine has the taillights that stick out from the short bed
2 wires: one prong plug and a two prong plug - so it's pretty easy to plug them back in as before - Is the
steering column directional switch going up..? I'm not good with electrical bugs - any suggestions would be
appreciated....
It is a most likely a ground problem. The ground stud is located close to the rear light assy. Also check to make sure that the sockets of the connectors dont have paint or corrosion in them.
Have fun.
