Something strange happened.

One day I got up and went out and my truck would not start just turned over and did nothing else.Well I had the truck towed down to my local mechanics and he could not figure out why it would not start checked everything from fuel pump to fuses to the computer well the next day after he got done plugging the computer back in it decided to start and has ran fine ever since kinda weird he or I still have no idea why the truck would not start for 2 days. The truck is a 1997 ford f-150 flareside 4x4 he thought maybe it could of been the crackshaft sensor but it was not in a good place to test easy and since the truck was running fine now we let it go any ideas on this issue?

Similar, intermittent problem

My '01 , 5.4 / 4x4/ wouldn't start, cranks good but no start. No codes, just no start. Then tried again and it started.

Sounds like an issue with the Pats system.

My wifes '02 KR would do that. It'd turn over, then not start. Let it set for a "while", and then it would start. Turned out to be the fuel pump.

thinking PATS or fuel pump too

wierd thing is that when it acts up, the "Theft" lite flickers and the odometer display will go to all bars/dashes instead of numbers with the key in the on position.

when you say the theft lite flickers do you mean that it rapidly flashes? are there more pats key on your key chain?
Also does it only do it with one key or your spare too?

Looks to me like the "Theft" lite flickers, it may be a rapid flash. No other PATS on the keychain, only the remote lock. Tried the spare key, same symptoms, I even tried to lock/unlock with the remote = no change. Only happened twice yesterday. Second time, I cycled the key on/off several times, waited a few seconds then it started right up.

anti theft no start

We had the exact same thing happen today. Anti Theft light flashing and no start. Odometer all dashes too. Wife finally put shifter from park to neutral with ignition on and wala the odometer came back and it fired right up. Tried everything from disconnecting battery to different keys etc. with no luck. It hasn't happened again all afternoon???? Whats up???
