current draw- plug melting

i posted a long while back about a little trouble i was having with my computer/fuel pump. well, the problem has been discovered finally. after having to run the pump off a hotwire from the fusebox crammed into the plug for the inertia switch for a month solid, i wired up a switch so the i could switch between the hotwire and running normally off the computer. we thought the problem, for some reason, was in the computer. but it has now been revealed that its just the plug for the inertia switch was too melted to make contacts, so i just jumped a wire across the pins of the plug. and that is when the problem was discovered- after a nice drive, i turned off the truck and smelled something burning. i though maybe a fuse, but i checked the intertia switch plug first, and sure enough, that sucker was HOT. whats making that plug draw so much current that it melts? ive been to the junkyard and pulled a plug to replace mine, but i fear it will melt again. anyone have any suggestions on the cause?

Maybe you should check if there were any recalls from Ford regarding your truck. But it surely sounds like a short circuit of some kind, check the wiring coming in and out.
