I need a new thermostat for my 2001 F250 with 7.3L. Napa offers one for about $12.00. The local Ford dealer wants $58.00. Is there any reason to be spending four times the price to get original equipment? I know cooling is important on a diesel and will gladly spend the extra if it's worth the difference. My current thermostat is, I believe, stuck open. The truck is just not getting up to temperature. Thanks in advance for the help.
The difference between the ones at the Ford dealer and the one at Autozone is 3 degrees. The ones at Autozone are 192 degree thermostats and the ones at the dealer are 195 degree thermostats.
