Hey I have a 07 f350 6.0 crew cab 4x4 and I was wondering what is the best chip or tuner? I'm looking for better fuel mileage and more power is a plus. I don't tow every day but when I do it is alot of weight at times. I'm looking for something that tells me engine info like the edge but I've heard it's not the best for them. Thanks in advance!
Everyone has different opinions. Seems I have heard a lot of people say "avoid name brand" or mainstream units. Those opinions usually never include any data or hard factual information to back them up. I have been running the Edge Evo now for about 2 months and love it. Hugh difference in the way the motor runs over stock. I run in all the time in level 1 tow mode only. Much lighter throttle response and increased power. I am not a truck hot rodder or a lead foot by any means but the difference is noticable right away. Having all the engine info options the unit pulls via the PCM is great. Much better gauge layout over turning your cab into an aircraft cockpit with multiple pillar mount round gauges. Just my opinion, of course.
I prefer DP-Tuner, then there is Tony Wildman out of Texas I beleive, and a few others. Just make sure that you get gauges to monitor your temps and pressure.
What HE said, but I prefer the sct with custom tuning from Eric @ Innovative....
Want hard factual data about the Edge - DalPilot had to get a new tranny and presumed it was because of his edge...
May be coincidental, but there sure are a lot of coincidence of trannies going out and having the edge..... but I'm just repeating what I have seen here (and there and there)
Last time I checked the Edge did not program the tranny computer whereas the sct does...

This is a typical problem with all of the "generic tuners". They do not truly reprogram the transmission and the result is problems down the road. You can get away with the generic tuners in the short term and you may think they are doing a great job but one day you will have to pay the piper.
You might also want to send tex25025 a PM if you have specific questions. He has a great deal of experience add HP to the 6.0 and is more than willing to share his knowledge.
