i have a 87 f350 4x4 wiyh the c-6 and the gear vendors on it, ibought the truck and was told that the tranny was rebuilt and needed a torque converter, well i just put the tc in and the truck still wont move. does anybody know what it could be im desperate.
Make sure the trans is filled with fluid, if it's real low it won't move either. Did you try it in 4 wheel drive? If it moves in 4 wheel (with front hubs locked) then it may be the gearvendor unit.
it was full of fluid and i filled the torque conv, locked the hubs and wont move at all.may it be the pump? what do i do if gv is bad
By trying it with hubs locked and it didn't move we know it's not the gearvendor. When you reassembled it you made sure the TC aligned with the pump right?
With the truck running try it in all the gears then back to park and check the level again. You could disconnect the rearmost tranny line (return line from the cooler) and with asistance have someone start the truck to see if the pump is pumping.
to the best of my knowledge i lined it up properly. It seated nice, and i did try to move it with the hubs locked and it did nothing! i will try taking the line off tommorrw. thank you for all the suggestions. i will let you know how it goes tommorrow!
