Captains Chairs Rail Conversion?

I recently bought an F250 extended cab 1988. The passenger side captain chair lifts to give access to the extended cab, but does not slide forward to make access easier (verified with owners manual). Is it possible to change the rails to another version to allow it to slide fore and aft as well? We'd love this to make room for a car seat behind.

Thanks for any advice.

I have a newer truck so mine might be different, but I would think that if your drivers side tilts and slides, that the passenger side should to. I'd take a look under the seat and see if one of the springs in the mechanism has broken or come disconnected. Use the driver's side for reference.
