I haven't gotten to the rear sway bar yet, but I did install the Energy Suspension front sway bar bushings this past weekend. My original end links broke off, so I used this opportunity to ugrade. What a difference just those bushings make! I look forward to the rear sway bar upgrade so maybe it will handle as well as my Bronco through the curves, although the steering is much better on the Expedition.
I finally got my rear bar installed and it is worth every knuckle and dollar I paid for it. Even my skeptical wife noticed a difference. Now for the front end sway bar bushings. Maybe after these and an upgrade to the Michelin Cross Terrain tires I'll be totally satisfied with the ride.
With the improvements we saw it is hard to believe that some folks do not notice any improvement at all. I have seen complete arguments against any bar upgrade due to little or NO improvement noticed. Hmmmm . . .
I agree, probably the best mod I have done to date.
Not hard at all! The only thing I had to move was a canister on the driver's side frame rail to get to the hardware that mounts the upright link arm. Without having to remove that cannister, I would say well under an hour installation time.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Jul-02 AT 08:45 AM (EST)]Speaking of the upright link arm hardware, on my '97 expy I had to use the factory nut that had the clip built on to it. Thank God the threads matched. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to access that area of the frame. Don't be surprised when you don't receive any lock washers, you get lock nuts instead with the kit. Be ready to use some muscle. By the way, I torqued all the end links to 30 ft/lbs. Is that enough?
