I used green on the non-serviceable plug that came with the kit. Is that 680?? Can't remember. When I put my RR on, I used purple (also came with the kit). Is there a list of Loctite, colors, and applications?

Here's a PDF I found for Loctite Adhesives and Sealants for the Auto Industry. LINK
680 is on page 8 and it says it is green. Loctite is a Henkel product, I didn't know that.

EDIT: This is a technical guide LINK.

Edit 2: Loctite Source Book (11MB PDF) LINK

Glad to hear you are going to get back on the road!
Did I miss it? What happened with the stealership trying to charge you?

Good for you. Besides saving a chit pile of money the sense of accomplishment has it's own value.

You are 100% correct. It was nice saving money, but just getting in there and getting oily and dirty and getting it done was enough reward in itself.

Here's a tip for install. When tightening the HPOP drive gear bolt and the engine starts turning over before you get it to 95 ft/lbs the bolt will be tight enough. I have R&R'd my HPOP three times and when the engine starts to turn over when tightening that bolt I just stop there, and that bolt was always tough to get loose the next time. Got this advice from Bob Riley of Dieselsite.

hey Payson, thanks for the advice. That thing was pretty hard to break loose! I'll make sure to go only until it turns.

I had another question. Is it okay if diesel and oil spilled? Im not too sure what it got on, but maybe a little on this line or a little on that line. Nothing is going to catch fire, i wouldnt imagine. Also, i unplugged thaat little coolant line that goes right infront of the gear bolt plate. I put it back on once i realized waht it was, but will i have to bleed my coolant system now?

Oh no, nothing got into the coolant, im just saying when i took the fuel bowl out, some spilled into the valley and when i pulled the hpop resevoir, some spilled into the valley and on misc. things. Nothing got into the coolant. I just leaked about a cup of coolant onto the floor because i took that line off for a few seconds.

Hey thanks Poppa! Im well on my way, i just wish my hpop was shipped out today! Now i wont get it till friday, im just anxious to get my truck back up and running!

Apparently the dealership let my batteries die, those will be good as long as i get a jump and have the alternator charge them right? They are brand spankin new.
