That 560 looks good but does anybody know who makes one that works with a manual tranny? I've seen two guys that had remote starters on their six speeds but didn't get an answer about where they got them.

Theres nothing special about putting a RS on a manual. same unit. Just be sure to park it in N, else your truck or car will slowly idle away! Happened to a buddy of mine.
Now, because of the design on the shifter, you can't do this on the ZF, but on the 3000gt/Stealth, you can use a magnetic sensor to act as the N safety switch and keep the RS from activating if it's not in N.

LOL. I was wondering the same thing. Do these things know how long to glow for different temps?
It cant sense the temperature and change the glow plug delay automatically, however, you can change the timing on the glow plug delay, according to what season it is or whatever the temperature is outside.

So the remote starter bypasses the clutch safety switch? The Viper 560 specified that it's for auto tranny's only, that's why I ask.

The only remote start that is "designed" to be compatible with manuals is compustar. They make a pretty nice system however you really wont find many if any shops that will install it. In Illinois, it is illegal to have one installed in a manual because there is no good way for the system to detect if the vehicle is in gear or not.
I used to have a car that was a manual, I installed a RS in it and I NEVER once left it in gear but my friend was not as fortunate. His car went across the 6 lanes of traffic during rush hour. Miraculously no one hit the car but it ended up going over a curb and through a fence before it stalled out. That was in a ford focus!!!
So the remote starter bypasses the clutch safety switch?
Is there a way we can bypass that all together? I hate having to push in the clutch to start the truck. I leave my truck out of gear with the parking brake on 99.99% of the time.

I have an auto so I cant verify but the sensor is down on the clutch pedal. If you look up there at the back of it where it hinges there is going to be at least one pin switch sensor. You may be lucky and by just unhooking that wire might allow you to start without pressing the clutch. Otherwise youll have to hook up a relay to activate when starting to send either a pos or neg signal to that wire. On the car I had, I had 2 sensors that I had to disable so it was a little tricker but no biggie.

Yes I'm sure we can and it won't be hard to do I've just been in a hurry the only two times I've had mine unhooked. There's a switch on the clutch rod that makes contact when the clutch is depressed, it's spring activated so it shouldn't be hard to 'fix'. The worst part is getting to it, you have to get in a really awkward position to get the switch out. I'm going to try it on mine next time we have a warm day that's NOT raining.

Cool thanks. I'm going to give that a look and see what can be done.

My '86 is like that with no parking brake - ratchet appears to be missing on the foot pedal. I was surprised that I had to push the clutch in to start it. My '89 Wrangler starts w/o pushing in the clutch - love it.
