cd player misswire
Hey there. Just wondering where I can find a wiring diagram for my 94 f250. I found one, but the colors it has don't match up with my truck. The Guy who had it before me wired the CD player through the headlight power wires. Everytime I turn my headlights on or off my CD player turns on and off

go to the junkyard and get the factory wiring clip ,wire it in and use the adapter.thats the BEST way to do it.if you dont want to go that route get the test light out.if you want i can pull my cd player out of the dash a little ways and get the wire colors for you being i have the same year of truck.does it keep memory right now?

Yeah. And the Guy before me have all the wires just coming out of a black tube of wires. Its like they cut out the adaptor that I could have plugged into. It suck. I may just have to get a whole mess of new wires

when it comes to wiring stereos i am really **** about the hacked up wiring stuff but thats just me.what you need to do is dig into the dash and find the wires that were cut and find the one that comes on and off with the ignition and thats the wire you are looking for.does your dome light work?i believe they are on the same fuse

Most CD players have a wire running to the headlight switch dash lights to dim the display when the lights are turned on.
Sounds like he has the switched power on the CD player running to the dash light wire instead of the key switched power supply.
You should find those colors back in the stock wiring harness.
The two biggest areas for electrical problems seems to be stereo installs and trailer brake installs by previous owners.
