F150 4x4 upgrades
I have three questions regarding upgrades to my 1978 F-150 4x4. 1. What do I need off of the dana 44hd to convert my dana 44 to eight lug? 2. What header will fit my truck with a 400, NP435, and NP205? How does the routing go and is there anything important about this procedure that I should be aware of? 3. Does anyone know if my vehicle ever came with a dual tank set up, and if so, how was it configured? Thanks for the help!

F150 4x4 upgrades
I have a 78 F150 4x4 with a 351m, which is the same as a 400. Dynomax headers will fit wonderfully. I bought mine from P.A.W. for $69.00. Very affordable, and it makes a world of difference. I also put on some Purple Hornies, which are a 18" glass pack. There was no problem with clearence anywhere, and it only took about two hours start to finish for the headers. The exhaust piping took a little while longer. I went with a 2 1/2 pipe all the way back, and it has a nice rumble that everyone can hear. To go with the headers, I put on an Edelbrock intake with a four barrel carb, and an Accel blaster coil. It is like driving a whole new truck. There is plenty of power.
My 78 f150 came with dual tanks. The side tank is the main, and the rear tank is the aux tank with the selector switch just to the right of the heater. Hope this helps.
