i really do need help

i really do need help

ok i have an 88 ford f150 single cab 302 i am replacing the harmonic balancer and stuck in a rut i can not get the center bolt out of the harmonic balancer please help me

its a big bolt find a socket that size and unscrew it.

you have to hold the crank...I did it before by the cover, exposing the flwheel. You have to wedge something in the flywheel so you can break the bolt loose.

ok i got the bolt off now how do i get the balancer off i tryed a crow bar to push it off but it doesnt work do i need a tool to get it off or just a little elbow grease

you have to A: hold the crank or B: use an impact on the bolt. you have to take the belts and pulley off first. you may have to pull the fan and shroud off to get a 1/2" drive impact in there is thats the best way. or use a big breaker bar and wedge on the frame but thats dangerous. and use the starter to turn the engine over to break it loose. then you need a puller to get the balancer off. again i don't recommend doing the breaker bar. and remember lefty loosey/righty tighty. no offense.

If the balencer does not want to come off then a puller is going to be required. you can usually get one on loan from autozone and other parts stores.
