i can tell you it looks like the plastic housing(double wall about 3" 's thick) almost touches the hood and it goes from the fender to the radiator. its a open element aimed towards the rear part of the headlight. so i guess thats were its drawing the "cold" air. honestly the main reason i purchased it was so i can service it and because it does flow more air. i'm no expert, so if you want definative answers you shoul PM or e-mail mike. hes known for his excelent service and many of us have had multiple conversations/e-mails with him prior to buying anything. 5 Star Tuning | Custom Dynomemeter Chassis Tuning Products and Services

Be careful with some kits that use metal intake tubes.
The metal will attract heat and raise the intake temps.
This will actually hurt your performance.

FYI...
Do not buy the brands that use the metal tube.
They collect heat and transfer it to the intake air.
Bad for performance and you just wasted your money.

Fully enclosed air box, using the stock intake location behind the radiator support (which SHIELDS THE FILTER FROM WATER AND SNOW), and another air intake hole on the side of the box from behind the fender well, which also allows water to drain out of the box, just in case any gets in there.
