I have been after a 60 fridge stealthy for the last couple of years. A freind has a freinds sitting in his garage for the last 8 years along with a double set of new glass seals , extra doors, extra tailgate, extra motor, carbs distributor coupe of gens new heater core and boxes and boxes of other parts new and old I did not get to go through so as not to show too much interest. Metal frame cab corners and mounts are actually in suprisingly good shape only rot is the floor pan and passenger side step plate and riser. Current motor spins and beleive it will wakeup without to much pain after sleeping indoors for the last 20 plus years. I finally let him offer it to me for a bill a price I believe is a steel and planned on taking him up on it when the snow dissapears here and I can get my garage cleared out. Now for my dilema, I have just stumbled into a 58 that is in what looks to be excellent condition needed a carb rebuild the guys father thinks as it was running fine this summer or so he is telling me and again comes with boxes and boxes of parts. Well, I am confident this one will set me back under 2k I have a feeling I will grab this one tomorrow if it pans out to be anywhere close to what I think it is. If I do I think the 60 news to my wife will in a few months and as a project for me and my 17 year old son. Am I CrazY will I get Divorced?
You need to talk to her about the divorce, LOL. Either one sounds like a pretty good buy.
I have been working on my 58 for the last 2 yrs and now getting pretty close to putting it back together. Yours will be fun with your son helping you. Good luck and welcome to the FTE family.

I don't know about a divorce, but if you "buy" a truck from your friend that you know he doesn't legally own, (ie: you both know it belongs to someone else, and the title is not in your friends name) you both could get into a lot of trouble when the other friend finds out about it, and he wants his truck back. I would be very cautious of that deal.
If you secretely sell your wife into slavery you and your son can buy the truck with the money and have yourself a grand time.......
Make a trade! Tell her you will take her on a nice weekend "date" if she will let you buy it. If she says just go get it and forget the date, it might be time for the divorce anyway!
Or just try asking - sincerely. Bet she says "yes." Most of the time we women don't care if you have your toy, we just want to make certain that you understand who has the power of permission - tee hee!
title is good and clean
freind bought it from another freind who originally bought it from Texas and had it shippped here to Wisconsin collected all the parts sat in his garage for twelve years eventually converted into a beer can recycle bin moved on to motorized bikes and needed the room sold it to my other freind who bought more parts and lost interest other than getting it running on the jack stands a couple of times
It has actually been in good storage for over 25 years likely saving the cab corners and mounts compared to other unrestored fs I have looked at
I've conditioned my wife over the years to be numb of all the vehicles that come and go. Tell here it's for parts for the 58? let it hang around, get the boy involved and your in.. Oh, and take here out for food and drink.

More drink than food!

My wife has made it tough for me to buy any more projects. The last couple I bought were followed by her taking a trip to the jewelry store so that I paid for the project twice.
At this point I'm probably a couple of projects behind because she has gone back to the jewelry store a couple of times since I bought a project, but now I can't afford another.
