Im getting a late start on PMS. I got the aeroforce interceptor gauge and Id be getting a pyro gauge soon cause im thinking about stage 1s and a chip. I think ill only need a dual gauge pod as I have a manual trans.
Question is full pillar or half pillar gauge pod? I really dont want to drill any holes in my trim to attach or route wires.
i have had this arguement on PSN a bagillion times now. if somebody would just get off their A$$ and make a stand alone pod it would be so easy!! all my pod would need to be "stand alone" is a lip curved on the door side, an extra about 4 inches across the top of the door and its done!!
i would do it, but i don't have the means and my stock pillar is already chopped the hell up so it doesn't matter.
in the meantime, if you do a full pillar with just 2 guages you MIGHT be able to run the wires without drilling a hole in your stocker for the wires, but you will still have to drill for the push pins that hold the pillar to the stock one so either way your drilling so i'd just drill the 2 big holes in the stock one for the wires and be done with it. i use a half pillar for awhile and now i have a full pillar and either way you gotta do the same chit except you gotta drill a couple more holes in the full pillar for the screws that hold the stock pillar on.
Thats why i said screw it and just cut the whole backside out travis.
They should just make the whole trim piece.
Its so halfass the way it is. Almost like tehy are saying. "here you can install this without taking the trim off."
When its really, here you can install this crappy fit over piece that looks like it will just easily install over and look good, but really wont, because you will have to take the trim off anyways and cut holes in it if you want any of it to fit properly at all.
At least those ev2's are small enough to give you more wire room behind the gauges, and you dont have to worry so much about plastic tubes for the boost, since its digital.

why not get a boost gauge too? then you dont have to use the MAP sensor part on the scan gauge to show your boost, and instead could run ICP or somehting like that.
I tend to swirve around violently trying to hold it on the road if i actually watch them.
but no, i actually only look at it on startup now when i dont plug it in. When my EGT's stay a certian temp for x time, i'll take off. I dont use them other then on the highway to see if the clutch is slipping or not.

I was thinking of having the scangauge show the boost and ICP. Unless you can think of something more important to watch.
