2010 brake questions
As some of you know I picked up my 2010 F350 on Jan 4th. Love the truck except…..the brakes are not what I expected.
I’ve never had brakes that pump up this much unless they needed to be bleed.
The 1st time you use the brakes there is effort to push the pedal but you don’t feel the truck slow at all for at least 3 inches at that point the pedal is lower than the gas pedal. If you let up and have to reapply the brakes there within 2 inches and nice and firm feeling.
I brought it back and dealer bleed the brake and road tested….They say its fixed. I notice no change. Before I go back again I’d like to know from other 09-10 owners if this is the way Ford brakes are now..
My Boss at work says his older 05 way this way and was told it was due to the ABS. I’m not buying that.
What’s your thoughts?
Thanks

My brakes are just right and so is our 2nd '08. We have two F250's and both have brakes that feel normal and work well.
You have something wrong if you need to pump, if you have a dead pedal on your first attempt to use them. This is a safety issue that should not be questioned by your dealer. I guess you need a second opinion from another dealer or service shop.
Seems kind of strange to me but I've only driven one gas SD, and that was a 2000 model which obviously didn't have the original brakes. The diesel and gas pickups use a different brake booster system and they feel completely different.
Knowing which engine you have will help us figure this out!
