hey fellas,what's the best way to tell if your springs on your mech. advance are worn out. i've never messed with them.my 351w is a little sluggish,got, good compression,fuel intake,electrical,vacuam,vac. advance, gas,plugs,pickup coil,cap,rotor,timing,air filter,acelerater pump,mechanical secondaries adjusted same as always,but the motor just ain't as peppy as it was 6 month ago.i rebuilt it 25,000 ago.i know quit alot about keepin' them healthy.but don't know any thing about the mechanical advance springs.i mentoined everthing above so sombody wouldn't waste there time about other possibility's of the problem.thanks.oleblue=

Set the Initial timing up another 2 deg.. See if it Improves. Maby its just things are `setting in` now.
Check it with a timing light see if the timing moves UP as the RPM increases with the Vacuum line Removed from the dist.

Did you look and see if they are rusty? You could always go buy a pair, I have never bought new ones but if my cheap friends give some brand new in the bag ones to me they cant be to much.
