6.9 maint question

Ok, been reading alot of posts here and have learned quite a bit.

My question is this:
What all should be maintained on these 6.9 diesels?

Please keep in mind, mine was an old muninciple truck (high miles, oil change probably the only services done) and has been pretty well beat.

I have read/learned about the CDR & oil cooler....is there an interval that the cooler should be torn down and cleaned? What other items should I replace/check/clean just to be on the safe side?

Already planning on GP replacement, return line replacement, complete new exhaust, ALL fluids etc this spring, but curious if there are other things I should do "just to be on the safe side"

TIA

you need to keep up with the SCAs to keep the block from cavitating through.

I cant remember what SCA stands for at the moment, but what it means is you have to add an additive to the coolant that will coat the cylinder walls and it keeps you from having holes in the cylinder from cavitation

No scheduled maintenance that I know of on the oil cooler some outlast the owner.
New glowplugs when you need them.
New return line kits when you need them or when you change the injectors.
Clean cdr every other oil change (probably the most neglected)
I change my fuel filter every oil change but many change when needed.
Fuel additive either all the time (best scenario since our fuel has been castrated) but at least in cold weather.
inj pump and inj every 100,000 to 125,000 if you want 100% performance and mileage.

Preventate Maintenance-
Do not disturb the Fuel Return Lines, the rubber hoses inbetween each injector.
The Injectors have 2 O-Rings on them, and the black rubber cap slips over the O-Rings and seals up.
When the O-Rings are new, they are soft and seal up.
After some heat cycles, the O-Rings become hard.
If you disturb or move the return lines, the O-Rings will never seal up again.
Worst part, you may not even know you touched them sometimes.
You may not see diesel fuel seeping out leaking, but air WILL get into the fuel line.
The air breaks the vacuum within the fuel line and suddenly the truck won't hold prime and will take a few cranking sessions to start.
