Whats the difference between these two turn signal switches besides wire colors, and the orientation of the black center piece, ( I think it spins anyway for the turn signal cancel function.). Both parts are for a tilt steering column. At Autozone, there is a $30 dollar difference.
I'm putting a tilt column out of a Bronco that caught fire into my 62 Ford Unibody. The harness number is E7TA- 138302- BA. Can anyone tell me what wires go to what? I don't have the ignition in the side so I could keep it on the dash. This column also has the hazard switch. I would appreciate any help. I know the blue and yellow & blue wires go to the horn. This column had cruise control also, which my 62 will not. I've got the column installed, the sun is out.
Ok so the one I was working on was the 13b302-ba out of a 1991 Ford F-150. I troubleshot with a test light to figure everything out and the wiring went as follows.
Green w/orange stripe = rear left turn & brake
Orange w/blue stripe = rear right turn & brake
White w/blue stripe = front right turn
Green w/white strip = front left turn
Yellow/blue to black/purple = horn
Light blue = turn signal flasher
White w/red stripe = emergency flasher
Solid green = brake pedal
The solid blue one I didn't end up using for anything. I thought it may have been for the high beam flash to pass but maybe my switch was broken. I didn't actually pull the steering column apart to figure any of that out. It was just trial & error. Hopefully this helps somebody else out there. It would have saved me a bit of time for sure! Good luck.
